If you’re looking for the perfect cocktail this holiday season look no further than my Orange Bloody Mary. We’ve taken the traditional Bloody Mary but lightened it up some fresh orange juice, lemon, and chili to tie the whole drink together. Cheers!
Orange Bloody Mary
- 1/2 lemon, zested and juiced (1 tablespoon lemon juice)
- 1 teaspoon kosher or coarse salt
- 6 oz orange juice (3/4 cup)
- 11 oz tomato juice
- 4 oz vodka (1/2 cup)
- ½ teaspoon chipotle chili powder (or chili and lime seasoning)
- 2 sprigs Rosemary
Zest the lemon, and mix 1 teaspoon of the zest with 1 teaspoon of salt. Dip a tall glass into some water to coat the rim, and then dip into the lemon/salt mixture to coat.
Add in the orange juice, tomato juice, vodka, juice of half the lemon, and chili powder. Stir. Finish with ice, and mix until chilled.
Meanwhile, take a sprig of rosemary, and place it over an open flame to char for a few seconds. Remove from heat, and place in cocktail. Stir and serve. Enjoy your Orange Bloody Mary!
